About Paul Hagen

Paul Hagen is a Principal with Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. practicing in the areas of U.S. and international environmental law.  As Chair of the Firm's International Environmental Practice Section, Mr.. Hagen has close to two decades of experience advising clients on product-related environmental requirements in the U.S. and in key markets world-wide.  Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. one of the oldest and largest law firms in the U.S. dedicated to the practice of  environmental law.

Mr. Hagen has worked extensively on product stewardship matters with clients in the IT, semiconductor, and wireless industries.  Specifically, he has advised clients on material restrictions (e.g., RoHS like measures), market access legislation, chemical regulation, the development of national and global product take-back and recycling programs, energy efficiency and green marketing claims.  Mr. Hagen has also served as counsel to the U.S. electronics industry on a wide-range of legislative, rulemaking and enforcement initiatives. He has also represented the industry in the negotiation and implementation of the Basel Convention and related accords governing the trandboundary movement of hazardous wastes and end-of-life electronic equipment.  Mr. Hagen is an adjunct professor of law at the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, DC, where he teaches a course on Environmental Issues in International Business.  He currently serves on the Board of the World Environment Center (WEC).  He served as Board Chairman of the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) from 2005-08.  He is a graduate of Providence College (B.A., 1986) and the Washington College of Law at American University (J.D., 1990).
