Chart of China Initiatives Affecting the Electronics Industry

China - Product Stewardship Overview

This chart summarizes and updates information key rulemaking and policymaking activities underway at various government agencies in China that address issues such as electronic industry manufacturing pollution control, product design, and energy efficiency. Specifically, the chart addresses the status of the "Pollution Control Standards for the Electronics Industry" that are being developed by the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA's). The chart also reviews the status of SEPA's "Technical Policy on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Pollution Prevention and Control" ("WEEE Policy" or "WEEP"). Further, the chart updates EIATRACK members on the status and influences cited by rulemakers concerning China's energy efficiency labeling regime established by the "Management Methods on Energy Efficiency Labeling."
