Matrix of Pending Recycling & Product Take Back Legislation in the USA

Product Take-Back

During the month of February, legislatures throughout the United States took up electronics recycling issues.  This matrix features new bills in California, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Utah and Vermont.  Additionally, bills that made notable progress include Vermont S. 77 (Lyons – D), which passed out of the Vermont House, and Oregon HB 3606 (Schaufler – D), which passed both the House and Senate and is currently awaiting the Governor’s signature.  Bills that are poised to move include South Carolina HB 4093 (Loftis – R), as it is currently on the House calendar, and Kentucky HB 160 (Harper – D), which is scheduled for a hearing on March 3, 2010.
