UK - Batteries

Question:

I understand that fines of up to $7,950 ($US) can now be levied on UK businesses who fail to meet their collection and recycling responsibilities under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations. Businesses placing batteries on the UK market must register themselves, and their compliance scheme, with the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. Can you update us?
