Updated Matrices for Member State Implementation of WEEE, RoHS, and Battery Directives; Bulgaria and Romania now Included

European Union - Batteries, Product Take-Back, Restricted Substances Overview

On 1 January 2007, Bulgaria and Romania joined the European Union, bringing the number of member states to 27. In connection with their accession to the EU, Bulgaria and Romania were required to transpose much of the existing EU legislation (the so-called “acquis communautaire”), including the WEEE, RoHS and Battery Directives.
