Senate Calls for More E-Waste Measures in Chile

Chile's Senate voted to approve a motion calling on the Minister of the Environment to step up efforts to control e-waste and promote recycling with a focus on extended producer responsibility (EPR). Chile has had fewer e-waste initiatives than other countries in Latin America at the legislative and regulatory levels. Perhaps this vote portends a change in policy toward greater control of EOL electronics.
