New Technological Waste Bill in Congress in BrazilMay 6, 2008 BrazilA new e-waste bill presented in Brazil's Chamber of Deputies calls for mandatory manufacturer/importer product take-back for a broad range of computer and telecommunications equipment (Bill 3152/08 or the "Bill"). The Bill joins others currently under consideration as the draft National Solid Waste Policy moves through the legislature. Given the number of e-waste bills presented recently at the national and even state level, it is evident that the concept of extended producer responsibility and the issue of technological waste are clearly a focus for many Brazilian legislators.
