Energy Efficiency Proposals in Argentina

Argentina - Energy Efficiency

Two new bills presented within weeks of each other in the Argentine Chamber of Deputies call for energy efficiency agencies and standards that would impact the electronics sector. Both proposals come on the heels of the late 2007 enactment of newly-elected President Kirchner’s National Program for Rational and Efficient Energy Use (PRONUREE in Decree 140/07). These two bills may only be the beginning of initiatives seeking to flesh out that new policy.
