Comment Period Set to Close on Proposed Ontario WEEE Program Plan

Canada - Ontario - Product Take-Back

The Ontario Ministry of the Environment is set to close its public comment period for the Final Phase I WEEE Program Plan ("Plan") on May 9, 2008. Covered products under Phase I include desktop computers, portable computers, peripherals (i.e., drives, keyboards, mice), monitors, televisions, and printing devices (including fax machines). Brand owners, first importers and/or assemblers of covered Phase I products are responsible for participating in the program or developing an individual Industry Stewardship Plan approved by Waste Diversion Ontario (“WDO”).
