Consumer E-Waste Fees Increase in CaliforniaJuly 1, 2008 USA - California - Product Take-BackOn June 17, 2008, the California Integrated Waste Management Board (“CIWMB”) increased the electronic waste recycling fees paid by consumers on the retail purchase of covered electronic devices (“CED”). CEDs subject to these consumer e-waste fees are cathode ray tube devices, including televisions and computer monitors; LCD desktop monitors; laptop computers with LCD displays; LCD televisions; plasma televisions; and portable DVD players with LCD screens.
