Poland Releases Draft Law to Transpose EU Battery Directive

The Polish Ministry of Environment has released a draft law ("Ustawa o Zuzytych Bateriach i Akumulatorach") to transpose the EU Battery Directive (Directive 2006/66 on batteries and accumulators and waste batteries and accumulators). A first draft was published in November of 2007. Following a public consultation, which as held in June 2008, a new draft law has been submitted to the Ministerial European Committee for review.
