Update on Puerto Rico Bill Targeting Electronic EquipmentJuly 8, 2008 USA - Puerto Rico - Product Stewardship Overview, Product Take-BackPuerto Rico's House of Representatives recently approved a bill (Proyecto de la Cámara 2955) that would create a far-reaching regulatory framework for the recycling and disposal of electronic equipment in Puerto Rico ("Bill"). As earlier reported on EIATRACK, the Bill would impose significant take-back, registration and fee obligations on manufacturers, importers and distributors of covered equipment. Thus, if adopted, the Bill would directly impact EIATRACK members.
