Norwegian Pollution Authority Pushes for Adoption of Strict Restrictions on Priority ChemicalsJuly 31, 2008 Norway - Restricted Substances OverviewThe Norwegian Pollution Control Authority (SFT) is pushing for further restrictions on certain chemicals in products. In a letter addressed to the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment, the SFT asks the Minister to approve some of the restrictions proposed in May 2007 and remove from the market products that do not meet these requirements. SFT argues that its proposal concerns the most harmful substances for which better and safer alternatives are available. Although the proposed restrictions would not apply to EEE subject to the RoHS regulations, any electrical and electronics products not subject to RoHS would be subject to the proposed restrictions.
