Chile Planning EPR for E-WastesAugust 10, 2008 Chile - Product Take-BackFrom July 29-31, 2008, Chile held a series of workshops across the country on "Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Waste Minimization Strategy," which included an entire day dedicated to EPR and e-wastes. The workshops, and in particular a presentation by the National Environmental Council (CONAMA), may provide key insights into Chile’s plans for e-waste regulation in the future. At least based on the information from this workshop, it seems only a matter of time before Chile imposes at least some level of responsibility for producers and importers of EOL electronics products.
