Chile - Hazardous Waste, Product Take-Back, Restricted Substances Overview

Chile’s federal government recently set out its plans to (a) develop a specific e-waste regulation and (b) include the EPR concept as an underpinning of its emerging framework Solid Waste Law in various presentations made at the Fourth Workshop to Coordinate Implementation of the National Solid Waste Policy (the “Workshop”) held March 26-27, 2009. Those presentations have only now been made publicly available, and they provide important insight into the country’s plans for e-wastes, green purchasing, and chemical regulations.
