Alert on Draft E-Waste Legislation prepared by NGOs and Industry Association in India

India - Product Take-Back

In India, two well-known environmental NGOs, namely, Greenpeace India and Toxics Link, are reportedly working with the Manufacturers' Association of Information Technology (MAIT) on electronics recycling (e-waste) legislation. The groups together are lobbying the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) for enactment of separate legislation on e-waste management under the aegis of the Environment Protection Act, 1986.
