British Columbia Issues Revised Schedules of Stewardship Program Requirements

Canada - British Columbia - Product Take-Back

On December 11, 2009, British Columbia published a regulation (B.C. Reg. 296/2009) amending the schedules of electronics and other products subject to mandatory stewardship requirements under its Recycling Regulation (B.C. Reg. 449/2004). The amendment postpones the imposition of stewardship requirements for some products, changes the delineation of existing product categories, and expands the program’s coverage to include “accessories” such as cables and chargers, and “media” for computer and audio-visual equipment.
