China - Product Stewardship Overview

The State Council recently confirmed that the public and inter-agency comment process associated with China's "WEEE" regulations, drafted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), are completed. The State Council is busy with other priorities, but NDRC still reports that the WEEE regulations will be out by the end of 2005 and that work on measures to implement the WEEE regulations, including financial support mechanisms, will be underway.
