Introduction
Switzerland restricts the usage of flame retardants via The Ordinance on Risk Reduction related to Chemical Products (ORRCHem) of 18 May 2005 as amended. Swiss national provisions to certain degree correspond with the EU restrictions on flame retardants (EU Directives 76/769/EEC, 79/663/EEC, 83/264/EC, 2003/11/EC) but also differ in parts.
Switzerland restricts the usage of short-chain chlorinated paraffins via The Ordinance on Risk Reduction related to Chemical Products (ORRCHem) of 18 May 2005 as amended. The national provisions in Switzerland are more restrictive than in Europan Union Directives 76/769/EEC and 2002/45/EC.
Defined Restrictions:
All articles: limit of 0.1% by mass for pentaBDE and octaBDE
Textiles: prohibition for PBB, TRIS and TEPA
Electronics: 0.1%
SCCPs: 1%
