Introduction
In 1987, Canada signed an international multilateral environmental agreement called the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (Montreal Protocol). This agreement, which has been signed and ratified by more than 180 countries, has established a schedule to reduce the production and importation of ozone-depleting substances.
