Introduction

Three California laws restrict cadmium in certain products and product packaging. These laws include:

The Electronics Waste Recycling Act of 2003;
The Toxics in Packaging Prevention Act; and,
The Dry Cell Battery Management Act.

A fourth law,
The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65) requires warnings on products containing cadmium and other listed chemicals that a business or manufacturer knows will result in exposure of any person.
