Introduction

On August 8, 2000, the Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration ("TEPA") announced registration requirements for manufacturers and importers in certain industries, including the battery, electrical appliance, and telecommunications ("data processing") product industries. These requirements are contained in the Public Announcement on the Registration of [Manufacturers and Importers] in Certain Manufacturing Industries, Including the Battery, Pesticide, and Specific Sanitation Material Industries.
