Introduction

Under the Massachusetts Appliance Efficiency Standards Act, first enacted in 1986 and most recently amended in November 2005, manufacturers must ensure that certain new lamps and appliances meet energy efficiency standards and must certify and mark these products as being in compliance with those standards.
