Introduction
Used or discarded electronic equipment and components may currently be subject to regulation as hazardous wastes under the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act ("RCRA"), which is the main statute governing the management of solid and hazardous wastes in the United States. Although the potential for such regulation has historically received little attention, the RCRA regulatory status of electronics has started to become a more prominent issue in recent years.
