Introduction
Environmentally- focused packaging and labeling requirements are on the rise in Brazil. National legislation calls for special labeling of certain batteries, energy efficiency information about TV standby power consumption, and asbestos-containing products, among others. However, while environmental requirements directed towards the content and management of product packaging, although a popular theme in legislative and regulatory proposals, has not yet been the subject of a binding rule applicable to the electronics sector. New developments will be tracked and reported in the Regulatory Alerts as they occur.
