Introduction

General provisions applicable to hazardous waste management are contained in the Waste Disposal Act. The Waste Disposal Act is discussed further in the Product Take-Back and Recycling section of the Taiwan Country Page. Measures applicable to hazardous wastes containing toxic chemical substances are described in the Toxic Chemical Substances Control Act and related measures. The Toxic Chemical Substances Control Act is discussed further in the Restriction of Substances and Packaging and Labeling sections of the Taiwan Country Page.

Some of the most important measures governing hazardous management in Taiwan are contained legal measures under the Waste Disposal Act. These include the Storage, Treatment and Disposal Methods and Facility Standards for Industrial Hazardous Wastes and the Hazardous Waste Identification Standards.
